Outdoor Quilts

We have a porch that goes across the front of our house. It's about 48 feet long. I'd like one of these to hang:
(pictures from porch swings.com)I'd like to put a quilt on my porch. I've thought of making one out of my scraps. I figure I don't need a complicated design, just one to bring some color and make the porch look homey. Here's my big question...... will it get ruined on the porch? The porch is covered so I'm not worried about rain, but what about sun damage? We have big trees in the front yard so there would be just a small part of the day when the sun was directly on it, but I'm still wondering...... What do you think?
If I could, I would decorate my whole yard in quilts!

I just bought a product called "UV SunBlock" at Joann's with my coupon. You can spray this on fabric. It says "Prevents Fading and Sun Damage".
St. George summers really are hot and bake anything outside. With your porch covered and shady trees around, I think it will be OK if you put a sunblock on the fabric.

I think quilts are meant to be used. And if it gets ruined, you have a reason to make a new one ;-)

I think it probably will get some wear and fading from the sun...but I'd definitely make a fun quilt for the porch...I think if you just know beforehand that it will fade a little...you won't mind because it will look great. Or make a few and rotate them fairly often.
