Borders

I'm trying to decide how I feel about this border. Sorry about the ripple. Just as I was about to take the picture my husband was being "helpful" and pulled it a little. So my question is this.... is the border too distracting? I want people to notice the center of the quilt before they notice the border. What do you think?

I know colors aren't always what they seem to be on the computer...but to me the border is good. It seems to be the same tone as the leaves on your applique'...and I still notice the center of the quilt first.

I think a larger floral would be more complimentary to the center of the quilt.

I don't care for the border color. The sashing is very strong and the border does not "frame" it.

I just removed a mitered border from a quilt that seemed too dull compared to the brighter center colors so I understand your dilemma. :)

i like this. it definitely makes the center the focus. if you go with a larger floral it would command more attention.

I think you should go with a plain white border so the center speaks for itself.

It is so lovely you couldn't mess it up! I would use the plain purple myself. I'm loving plain colors in quilts. But really this is such a darling quilt. It can go either way.

I agree with The Demanding Doll and Nanette. I would frame it with the purple. But it's whatever pleases your eye! If you look at it and love it, great. If you look at it and think twice, well, then, maybe another option would make it more pleasing to you.
