Utah Adoption Tax

Please sign this petition to support changing Utah's tax code to allow for a tax credit for families (like ours) who adopt children.

As I have talked about on here many times, all three of my children are adopted. Adoption is VERY expensive. The average domestic adoption costs between $20,000- $40,000 depending on if the adoptive family is paying medical expenses for the birth mother (which is the case more often than not). Not only will this tax credit help people be able to afford adoption, but it will help children find stable, loving families. Please take just a few minutes to sign this petition.

Thanks,

Elizabeth

New Year, New Quilts?

I'm getting tired of seeing those stockings when I log on to check every one's quilt blogs so I decided I might as well update...... pictureless. My regular computer died. Good thing Mr. Scissors (he'd love that name) is into computers because we have a lot of them. Right now I'm on one of our laptops and it's not great. I don't know how to put the camera into it to post pics. Not to mention the fact that I have no pics to post.

I haven't been doing a lot of quilting lately. I've been working a little bit on my double wedding ring quilt. Well, I say I may have worked on it but it's probably been only once since 2010. Why? Well, the girl at the top of the page ( blogger won't let me move the pic) has started to crawl. I now spend most of my day chasing her. She's fast. Very fast. She doesn't want to play with her toys either. She wants cords and stairs. It may be awhile before I get back to quilting.
